It could be a dinner party. A business gathering. A community event. A room full of people who know one another — or don't.

What interests me is how you bring people together and create enough comfort and trust for something unexpected to happen.

A question can do it. A story can do it. Sometimes it's simply giving people permission to participate rather than sit on the sidelines.

I've spent years finding ways to get people talking, listening, laughing, thinking — and becoming enthusiastic about being part of what's happening around them.
